Graduate Programme
Have you just graduated from university and do you want to work in the world of energy? Our Graduate Programme offers you a unique opportunity to enter the electricity industry. Over an 18-month period, you will be introduced to at least three different business units and be involved in day-to-day business as well as in various projects. Our practical approach and individual support will open up excellent prospects for you.
Familiarise yourself with Swissgrid’s core processes on this exciting Graduate Programme. You will be assigned to areas that correspond to your interests, depending on whether you opt for the «Core Business» or the «Digitalisation & Technology» specialisation. The content of the programme can be adapted to your needs as you go along.
In the Market business unit, for example, you will be introduced to the Control Centre – the heart of Swissgrid – to gain an in-depth understanding of grid operations in the Swiss extra-high voltage grid and contribute to the further development of important operating processes. Another possibility is to learn all about the market mechanisms of the control energy market and of cross-border energy exchange and to help enhance them as part of fascinating projects.
During the second part of the programme, you can explore exciting options in the planning, construction and operation of high-voltage installations in the Grid Infrastructure business unit. You can choose to specialise in various areas such as the planning and configuration of grid protection and station automation systems or the introduction of new technologies.
There are three alternatives in the Technology business unit during the third part of the programme. You can either find out more about the world of industrial control systems, become familiar with the IT side of systems for controlling the transmission grid, calculating load flows and using control energy, or actively assist projects in the area of cloud services, machine learning, cyber security and DevSecOps. This will enable you to discover the backbone of the Swiss electricity supply from a digital perspective.
