The new, roughly 17.3 km long, 380 kV overhead line between Schwanden and Tierfehd to the new pumped-storage station at Linth-Limmern in the canton of Glarus was successfully put into operation on 30 April 2015. On commissioning, the section of cable becomes part of the Swissgrid transmission grid. Thanks to the good cooperation between departments, authorities, Swissgrid and the site management of Axpo Power AG, the grid connection was completed on schedule.
