Swissgrid is responsible for the safe, stable and secure operation of the Swiss transmission system. This takes the best specialists. Therefore Swissgrid launched its employer branding campaign in December 2020. The guiding principle is «establishing connections».
As the National Grid Company, Swissgrid connects substations and grid nodes at the highest grid level, as well as the Swiss transmission grid, with neighbouring countries. But Swissgrid also connects people. The committed and qualified employees who work hard to maintain a secure and reliable supply of electricity every day are what make our modern lives and a productive economy possible. This is the reason behind the more human face of Swissgrid’s new employer image that is focussed explicitly on human interactions. The new employer image reinforces Swissgrid’s reputation as a progressive, attractive employer and establishes a long-term connection with specialists with sought-after job profiles. Users will encounter the guiding principle of «establishing connections» on every digital communication channel – regardless of where in the recruiting journey they currently find themselves.
Employees become ambassadors
«We believe it’s important that an employer branding campaign gives employees a voice and a face. They are the people who are most familiar with Swissgrid as an employer, who shape our corporate culture and who are therefore the most credible ambassadors for the employer brand» says Claude Sulser, Head of Human Resources at Swissgrid. All the contents of the digital campaign, from the website through to videos and online banners, were developed in close collaboration with employees from the various areas at Swissgrid. «A total of 81 employees were filmed and directly involved. Entire teams supplied the specialized contents for the first wave of the campaign», explains Seraina Greb, Client Director at Maxomedia, the responsible communications agency.
Launch in the Advent season
The campaign’s go-live over the Christmas and New Year season is deliberately intended to draw the attention of highly-qualified experts from specialist areas who may be looking to change jobs in the new year to Swissgrid. In this first step, the focus is on ICT specialists who are not yet very familiar with Swissgrid. Quiz ads are intended to kindle their interest with technical questions on cyber security, IT solutions and ICT infrastructure and invite them to solve puzzles on the website. Here, video portraits of employees provide insights into the varied and complex tasks at Swissgrid. Data Engineer Gianluca Bergami reveals: «Exciting topics and interesting questions of national and international relevance are our daily fare.» A convincing reason to connect with Swissgrid.
