Swissgrid’s and TransnetBW’s joint coordinating company is being dissolved

The coordinating company «Central European System Operation Coordinator AG» (CESOC), which was founded by Swissgrid and TransnetBW in 2008, is being dissolved. At the time, the aim of the company was to improve security of supply and to handle grid activities on the German/Swiss border efficiently. Meanwhile this purpose is being fulfilled by other European cooperative ventures.

Central European System Operation Coordinator AG (CESOC) was established in 2008 by Swissgrid and EnBW Transportnetze AG (today: TransnetBW) as a joint coordinating company based in Laufenburg, Switzerland. in order to expanding cross-border collaboration. CESOC was to provide services for transmission system operators in the fields of commercial grid management, congestion management, grid security and grid operation. The founders intended to handle joint grid activities on the German/Swiss border efficiently. Meanwhile this purpose is fulfilled by other European cooperative ventures, such as TSCNet GmbH in Munich for Swissgrid and TransnetBW and by JAO in Luxembourg. For that reason, CESOC is being dissolved by resolution of the competent bodies at Swissgrid and TransnetBW. As CESOC was set up as a pure service company, no employees are affected by its dissolution.
